The “Listening Post” is an instalation piece which reflects on real people and their interactions, within the infinite space of the internet. Through monitoring public chat rooms and bulletin boards the installation retrieves live texts starting with “I am …” which are spoken and displayed on a wall of 231 small vacuum-fluorecent screens. It is an installation aimed to both overwhelm and cause awareness to the realism that the digital world so easily dissolves. Developed by Mark Hansen and Ben Rubin.
