OK, so they’re not real per se (they used magnets under the table to move them) but they could be… maybe. According to an article in Make Magazine they indicated that it is feasible a tiny touch-screen could be places on the vehicle’s roof, with a writable surface over-top. A microcontroller could translate the stylus-like input of the doodles, equating to steering actions, etc.
