Artist Markus Kison created a memorial to the bombing of Dresden by sending the vibrations of the sounds of the bombing through a banister at a popular city overlook.  By placing their elbows on the railing and covering their ears, visitors can hear the planes and bombs exploding through the vibration in their bones.  The gesture of leaning over and covering one’s ears mimics the position people took when the bombing was happening, and creates an intimate and private experience of the history.
